There are certain technical details regarding the geodesic dome kits. Although these details will vary a bit, they more or less are the same. Polyurethane deck treatment can be given to the structural units of the dome structure. Usually, a warranty period is given on the dome. Foundation walls are usually built of standard height. They can be built from plates and studs. Insulation may be provided along with lining. The outward portion can be glazed. There may be variations in the quality. Premium quality as well as standard quality is available in the market.
In addition to that, various markets may provide different features along with the geodesic dome kit. The northern part of the dome can be insulated. Loss in the amount of heat can be avoided by doing so. Water tank will also be shaded during the time of summer preventing increase in heat. Thus, coldness is maintained in summer and heat is maintained during the winter time. By using a surface that causes reflection the amount of light in the dome can be easily augmented.
Vents may be provided in the geodesic domes. The opening and closing of the vents may be controlled by solar power. More than the necessary heat may be avoided by doing so. Thermostats and vent fans may be given in the kit. If the size of the dome is big, electricity may be needed. Fans can be provided which allow the passage of warm or cold air, respectively, within the soil itself. The kit is usually found to contain the distribution box and the fan. A cell may be used to operate the fan. In addition to all this, there are even more features that can be purchased according to needs. The geodesic dome can be installed by the owners themselves. Or a person from the company from where it is bought may oversee the installation. Thus, with the installation complete the geodesic dome is ready for use!!!
