Types of Cutting Propagation Methods:

Stem Cuttings:
Some woody plant can be propagated by stem cutting system. Fall season or dormant season is good for the method. You can use this system for any plant at any time of the year. Only woody plants needs fall or dormant season.
Tip cuttings:
In this system, just cut off two to six inches piece of plant form the parent plant. This cutting must include the terminal bud. Just, cut off bellow the node. If there are lower leaves, remove them so that would not touch to the cutting area and medium. If need use the pure water or rooting hormone and dip in the medium. The excess hormone should be removed by tapping the end of the cutting and put cutting deeply into the growing media. Inserting the cutting into the media will support itself. Minimum one node should be under the surface.
Cane Cuttings:
A cane can be cut like stem cutting. Cutting cane should be included minimum one or two eyes. Use the fungicide dust for end of the cane cutting. You an also use activated charcoal instead of fungicide dust. Let the cane to dry for few hours. And lay a cane into the growing media horizontally at least half of the cutting. The eye should be facing upward. Generally, pots are used to grow the cane cutting roots and new shoots. But new shoots can often be re-rooted in the sand medium.
Single Eye:
When you cut off the cane or stem, it should be contain an eye or toe eyes. An eye is also known as node. If you have limited material use single eye system. In this method leaves are used as substitute for the plants. Just cut the cane or stem just half an inch above the eye and half an inch below the eye. And insert the stem vertically or horizontally into the growing media.
Other methods like Double Eye System, Heel Cutting, Leaf Cutting, and Whole Leaf with Petiole are also used to propagate the plants in the Asexual Propagation system.
