Stem Layering System in Asexual Plant Propagation:
from:Sometimes we cut off a parent plant and use some growing media to form root. At this time the stems spread some roots near the cutting place and forms new plants. This kind of method is known as Layering Method. This method generates a high success rate of propagation. Some plants naturally generate layers themselves. Sometimes, we have to follow the process. Layering system is developed by cutting off the where there is bent. Sometimes one side of the pant will be injured and developed new plant. Provide proper media so that it should be supply enough air, water nutrients to the plants. When you will supply all required material consistency should be there. Keep in mind that when you will provide any media or material it should be moist so that plant can soak up the water and other required nutrients and form new plant. There are many types of layering propagation system that are given below.
Simple layering system:
Just, bend the stem to the ground where you want apply the method. And coat the needed part with growing media or soil. And then the turn the tip vertically and bind it. Generally, sharp curve of the tip will increasers the roots quickly. But when you injure the lower side of the plant it helps to form new roots easily.
Tip layering system:
Just dig a hole at least three to four inches deep. And add shoot tip into the hole and cover it with the growing media or required soil. In this method first the tip develops downwardly and curves upward sharply and starts to grow to upper side. Bended-side spreads roots first and then the very roots reproduce the new plant. The tip layer should be removed completely and then plant it. The tip layering plating should be taken in the early in the spring season or late fall. This is good time for the tip layering system. Gardeners, generally, use this method for plants like black, purple, and trailing blackberries. This method supports to these plants and gives better results.
Simple Layering System and Tip Layering System, both are well known and commonly use in allover the world.
